A Little Pause, A Lot of Growth: Life Updates, Creative Goals & My Endless Watchlist
Life Updates, Creative Goals & My Endless Watchlist
After months of researching, writing, and juggling life, I realized I needed a breather — a moment to slow down and reconnect with why I started this space in the first place. That pause has given me fresh perspective, new stories, and a deeper appreciation for this creative community we’ve built together.
Hey y’all, it’s been a while — about eight months, to be exact! My last few posts focused on Black history and the incredible contributions of Black Americans to labor in the U.S. That research was deeply fulfilling, but I’ll be honest — the consistency and depth it required took a lot out of me.
Life got busy, and I needed to take a step back to rest and recharge. Even though I wasn’t publishing, I never stopped writing — my journal has been filled with notes and reflections on all the shows and films I’ve watched these past few months (trust me, the Endless Watchlist never ends!).
I’ve also been living life and going on mini-adventures with my best friend — soaking in the little joys, road trips, and small-town discoveries that make life rich and meaningful. I can’t wait to share some of those moments with you soon.
Behind the scenes, I’ve been working to improve this site’s SEO and overall design, and it’s starting to pay off — I’ve noticed a steady increase in new subscribers. (Welcome to all of you!)
Looking ahead, I want to do more than review and reflect — I’m slowly finding my way back to creative writing. Whether it becomes a novel or a collection of short stories, I plan to share snippets of that process here, documenting what I like to call my slow writing journey.
Thank you all for being here — for reading, subscribing, and growing with me through every season. I’m excited for this next chapter and all the stories still to come.
Here’s to many more shows, essays, and new beginnings.
With love,
— Southern Geeky xoxo
