“Against the Current (2026)” C-Drama Review: A Masterclass in Wit, Resilience, and Defying Fate

A brilliant heroine, a charming romance, and unforgettable character development make Against the Current (2026) one of my favorite Chinese dramas of all time. Starring Tan Song Yun and Liu Xue Yi, this beautifully written historical drama explores resilience, ambition, and the power of intelligence in a patriarchal society. Despite a few frustrating misunderstandings and a slow-burn romance, this rare gem earns a perfect 10/10 and a spot among my all-time top 10 dramas.
