Dear Readers,

It feels good to write to you here for the first time—slow and unhurried, the way Sunday mornings were made to be.

The Sunday Letter is my cozy corner of the internet, a place to breathe, reflect, and share the small but meaningful things: stories, creative rituals, favorite reads, and glimpses of Southern life that make the world feel a little softer.

So, welcome. I’m glad you’re here.

Thanksgiving Day has come and gone, and this year my family and I kept things beautifully low-key. There’s something sweet about holidays that feel easy—no rushing, no fuss, just good food, good people, and a home that feels full even when the day is quiet.

I prepared an oven-roasted Cajun turkey, seafood dressing, and a big pan of seafood pasta. My dad made a huge pot of gumbo—because in a Louisiana household, gumbo is never optional on a holiday. Everything turned out delicious, and once the last dish was done, I finally had a moment to breathe, stretch out my feet, and relax. Because cooking is love… but it’s also labor. Lol.

The Saturday before Thanksgiving, I attended my job’s annual holiday party, and let me tell you—it was grand. Hosted at a local country club, buffet-style dinner, twinkling lights, good music, and even better company. I went with my coworker and best friend, Garalisha, and her mother, and we had the best time. My coworkers cut up on that dance floor like they were auditioning for a tour! The food was bussin’, the energy was high, and when I say my feet were screaming by the end—I mean it. But I felt alive, joyful, and already looking forward to next year.

Back at home, I wrote a few quiet journal entries—small reflections, notes to my future self, and lingering feelings from the holiday glow.

I’m still watching Love Like the Galaxy, currently on episode 30, inching deeper into palace scheming, slow-burning chemistry, and the kind of storytelling that convinces you to watch “just one more episode.” My review is coming soon.

Wherever this Sunday finds you, I hope you’re giving yourself permission to rest, reset, and savor the small things.

This Week’s Reflection: On Quiet Joy

Some joys don’t announce themselves—they’re soft, steady, and tucked into everyday moments:

  • The smell of gumbo simmering for hours

  • Laughter rising over buffet tables

  • A favorite show waiting at the end of the day

  • Writing something honest in a journal

  • Sitting still long enough to feel like yourself again

Quiet joy is a gentle kind of healing. It doesn’t rush. It doesn’t demand. It simply arrives the moment your shoulders drop.

This week, I’m trying to notice those moments more on purpose.

Currently Watching

This week I’ve been deep in Love Like the Galaxy — a sweeping historical CDrama full of secret longing, palace politics, and impossibly slow-burning chemistry.

If you love dramatic stares, family intrigue, and a heroine who is soft and smarter than everyone else in the room… this one might find its way onto your watchlist.

What I’m Reading & Writing

This week I drafted:

  • Two TikTok posts

  • One KDrama review for Marry My Husband

  • One CDrama review for Till the End of the Moon

And I’m currently outlining a blog post about a recent weekend adventure—more on that soon.

A Gentle Note for You

Drink something nice.

Write something messy.

Feel everything as it comes.

You’re allowed to start wherever you are.
