The Sunday Letter — Issue No. 02
Dear Readers,
Welcome back to another quiet Sunday together.
After sharing last week’s reflections on Thanksgiving and quiet joy, it feels good to settle in again and continue this little ritual with you.
The Sunday Letter is becoming exactly what I hoped it would be—a soft corner of the internet where we can ease into the week ahead, breathe a little slower, and notice the gentle, meaningful things that often slip past us during busy days.
So thank you for returning. It means a lot.
This Week’s Reflection: On Starting Slow
Lately, I’ve been learning how to begin again—not with fireworks or fanfare, but quietly.
The kind of beginning that feels like making coffee before sunrise, or rewriting the first line of a story you’ve carried for years.
Maybe you’re in that season, too, a season where starting small is the bravest thing you can do.
This week, I’m practicing the art of slow beginnings: tending ideas like seedlings, revisiting favorite reads and shows, and letting silence tell its own stories.
Currently Watching
I’m still deep in Love Like the Galaxy, a historical C-Drama full of secret longing, palace politics, and a slow-burn romance.
I made it to episode 33, but I'm starting to lose interest in the storyline. What originally had me hooked was the good pacing and comedy. This current story arc has been really heavy with grief, lost love, parental betrayal, and war. I've watched a lot of melodramatic historical dramas recently and this one is starting to trigger my winter depression. There are still occasional funny moments, especially the face-slapping. I also love the relationship between Cheng Shaoshang and the Empress. It reminds me of Yinglou and the Empress in The Story of Yanxi Palace.
If you love dramatic stares, family intrigue, and a heroine who is soft, clever, and always ten steps ahead… this might be your next obsession. However, I will be putting this drama on hold and watching something a little lighter.
What I’m Reading & Writing

A Gentle Note for You
Slow down for a moment this week.
Breathe deeper than you did yesterday.
Let small comforts find you — a warm cup, a quiet corner, a familiar song.
Not every joy has to be loud to matter.
Until next Sunday,
Love,
- Iris — xoxo
